Walk of Life

Here's Elijah figuring out how far he can go on those legs! It's great to watch his facial expressions as he is walking. He shows part excitement that he is actually walking and part wonderment of how it feels for his legs taking him on some wild ride.

"Mama, I'm ready for Obama"

A day to go down in history. Elijah enjoyed his first time to the voting polls. He was very excited to see American flags everywhere. He does get excited quite easily. Here he is...photo 1: "ready to vote"; photo 2, "Ahh yeah. Go Obama!"; photo 3: playing Obama a song to victory

Our Little Collector

Elijah absolutely loves being outside and playing. He is usually very busy collecting all kinds of things at the playgrounds we visit. Here is a video of Elijah gathering his pine cones, leaves and such in the dump truck and then moving on to collect more items. It is not shown on the video, but he did manage to get the fireman hat in the dump truck as well and kept on going.

Pumpkin Time

We had a blast playing with all the pumpkins. Met up with many of our friends at a pumpkin patch.

1st Yom Kippur

On this special day, we all spent it together with friends and family. Yom Kippur is a day in which we reflect on the year passed and we visited the beach to relax and share memories.

My cousin Keaton was born Sept 16 and is a beautiful little girl. Mom & I had fun visiting her in Dallas when she was only one week old.

Getting Dirty

Elijah loves being outside. He enjoys playing at the park (any park). His legs and arms kick with excitement as soon as he has the park and all the kids playing in his view. He is extremely social smiling at everyone and getting very excited to see people. He seems to like playing in the dirt and often finds either a small twig or leaf to hold and bring around with him as he crawls all over the park. He is getting more comfortable using the toys to walk around with, and he absolutely LOVES it when a flock of birds fly overhead. When he sees the birds flying he raises his arms up in the air as if the birds have just flown from the heavens. Here are some photos of Elijah having fun at some of the parks around town...

Elijah and Dad's duet

trip to Dallas (08-01-08)

We visited Dallas, Texas where Aunt Kelli (Ashly's younger sister) lives. She is due to have a baby with her husband Nathan in mid September. We had a great time visiting family and celebrating Baby Hale. Elijah loved wearing his cowboy hat. It was almost funny how much he enjoys wearing it.

Mexico

2 weeks ago we took a trip to Tulum, Mexico to celebrate the Double wedding of our good friends Steve/Jenny & Jay/Paola. It was an amazing adventure with great friends all around. We even had Adam's parents (bubbe and zayde) there to help look over the 2 grand kids while we joined the wedding festivities.

February 12, 2008 WELCOME COUSIN CORAL!

Elijah has a brand new cousin. Uncle Josh & Aunt Josephine welcomed an adorable little girl, Coral Lily, into the world last week. The cousins met and instantly hit it off. They slept, fed and pooped together. How sweet.

Josh is holding Elijah above while Ashly hugs Coral.

Curious Eyes

As long as Elijah is in motion, he enjoys all of his modes of transportation. He loves to stroll around and to go on hikes/walks with mom and dad. His eyes opened wide to explore all around.

Do I have TWO Dads?

"You sound like my Daddy and you look like my Daddy, but you're really my Uncle Josh," thought Elijah when he was looking at his Dad and twin Josh simultaneously the other night. Adam and Josh were standing side by side watching Elijah's curious little eyes move back and forth checking them out. It was cute to watch and wonder what must be going on in that great mind of his.

Elijah is becoming more aware of his surroundings and definitely recognizes his Mommy and Daddy. He is enjoying looking in the mirror at himself and watching the animals above him on his swing. He smiles and talks to them.

Bouncy Seat Fun

Elijah LOVES the bouncy seat! He is becoming more and more interactive and smiling more often responsively. He had his first chuckle the other day when he farted during a feeding. His whole face lit up with breast in mouth, he laughed a little and continued on eating.

Hmmm...when should I awake to eat next?

Day at the Spa

Elijah enjoyed a nice massage (from his parents) and nap (with his parents) as the sun was setting through the bedroom windows. aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Snug as a bug

Well it's not like being pregnant, but the MOBY wrap is the closest thing I can get to feeling kicks and movements from the inside. This wrap keeps Elijah snug next to me and allows me to use two hands! We can dance, make dinner, take walks....all with no hands. Love it....and so does he!

Splish Splash!

At first we thought we just may have caught Elijah at a good time when he received his first real bath because he did not cry at all. In fact he seemed to LOVE it! And he's enjoyed every bath since then too.

Piano Lessons with Daddy

Well it's never too early to start piano lessons! Everyday daddy takes Elijah over to the piano and begins teaching chords and scales. We even wrote a teaching song together, you'll have to hear it sometime.

The piano also holds as the ultimate soother for Elijah. He seems to love the sound of Daddy tickling the ivories.

Elijah Miles is full of smiles

Although most of Elijah's smiles happen while in a peaceful slumber, he has also been seen giving smiles which seem appropriately so when awake.

Diaper Daddy

Ok, here is the game:
Elijah poops and needs to be changed. So daddy takes the changing diapers role. I get him all cleaned up and ready to go with his one-sie on and then it happens.........round 2. The whole diaper is dirty again. Repeat above and then round 3.

Doah!!!

This happens many times through the night so I'm having a talk with Elijah this evening to figure it out.

Fun times!

Bringing in the New Year...

Welcoming 2008 with many joyous times ahead! Elijah came ready to celebrate.

Daddy's Birthday 12-31-07

Big Outing

While family was in town visiting and Mama over here was getting stir crazy, we decided to have a nice outing into San Francisco cruisin' around town and ending up at the Marin Headlands for an incredible view. We experienced many diaper changes on the go in the car. The weather, although deceivingly clear, was quite windy and cold for little Elijah to go out in. We joked that Ashly finally got out of the house but was now stuck in the car feeding Elijah. Luckily the weather was not too windy and cold at the top of the Headlands so we brought Elijah out for just a little bit for the view and some photos.

Elijah's appearances around town...

Elijah had his first appearance coming home from the hospital, but since then he has been seen around the neighborhood in his sling Aunt Kelli & Uncle Nathan got him or strollin around in his amazing stroller our Tallahassee family got for him. He loves both the sling and stroller which is great for Mom and Dad because we need to get out of the house every now and then. He usually falls into a deep slumber while in motion.

Daddy's Feet

Looks like Elijah definitely has Daddy's feet. He also has nice long fingers like his Daddy too.
